Valley Kids Learning Center is pleased to offer childcare for the Kalamazoo area with 3, 4, or 5 full-day enrollment options.
Hours of Operation
Valley Kids Learning Center is open Monday - Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Per the State of Michigan, Valley Kids Learning Center operates with a 10-hour child attendance policy. All tuition rates are based on a 10-hour day.
To reserve your child’s spot in the classroom, a classroom reservation form will need to be filled out and returned along with the non-refundable, annual registration fee. Additionally, the center is required to have the following forms on file prior to your child's start date:
Child Information Card
Copy of your child’s immunization record, or a signed copy of a waiver stating why immunizations are not being administered
Physical evaluation signed by your physician
Tuition payments are due on the Friday of the week prior to your child’s attendance. Payments can be made in the form of cash, check, money order or through our credit card tuition billing program. Checks should be made out to Valley Kids Learning Center. Please include your child’s name in the memo portion of your check. Recurring automated payments may be set up online using your credit card, checking or savings account.
Valley Kids Learning Center is pleased to offer a multiple child discount for children enrolled full-time. If paying by check, please be aware there will be a $25 non-sufficient funds fee for all returned checks. VKLC reserves the right to terminate the contract for services for any account with a balance beyond the two week deposit being held.

A non-refundable registration fee of $75 is due at the time of your child’s enrollment and annually thereafter.
A non-refundable registration fee of $100 is due at the time of enrollment for families registering more than 1 child and annually thereafter.
A two week deposit is required for children attending Valley Kids Learning Center. This deposit will be held and applied to your child’s last two weeks of care at the center.
In order to make sure that your child receives the highest quality of care possible, we strive to maintain accurate staff scheduling. Therefore, your tuition will not be refunded or reduced when your child does not attend the program.
Please notify Valley Kids Learning Center as soon as possible if your child will not be attending or will be arriving late on a particular day. If your child is out due to illness, please make us aware of specific symptoms and the nature of the illness. This will help staff and parents become more aware of symptoms exhibited by other children. Please see our illness policy for more details.
Unscheduled Additional Care
If an additional day of care is needed for a specific week, please check with the Program Director for availability. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, however, additional care is subject to availability. Additional care also incurs fees that will be due with your weekly tuition.
In order to maintain accurate staff scheduling, we will not be able to substitute additional care days for scheduled days that your child may have missed.
Late Pick-Up Fee
Parents should plan to arrive at the center to pick up your child and their belongings prior to the time we are scheduled to close. If staff members remain after closing to accommodate you, a late charge of $1 per minute will be added to your account balance. If you acquire more than three late pick ups in 30 days, your participation in the program may be terminated.
The center will be staffed to provide care for your child based on the hours indicated on your contract. If your child needs to be dropped off earlier or picked up later than your contracted hour, approval must be obtained from the Program Director and will result in a $10 fee being applied to your account.
In order to keep the children in our care safe and secure, Valley Kids Learning Center has the right to refuse care to any child who is dropped off during unapproved and unscheduled times until their contracted scheduled time begins.
Flex Days are offered after children have been enrolled for 90 days are based upon the contracted enrollment schedule. The number of Flex Days allotted is equivalent to the number of days per week children are contracted to attend Valley Kids Learning Center. Flex Days may be used individually or in a group. Parents must submit a Flex Day request at least 2 days in advance of the requested date and tuition rates for that week will be adjusted accordingly. Flex Days may be used for family vacations or any other time you know in advance that your child will not be in the care of Valley Kids Learning Center. Flex Days may not be used for days the center is closed for holidays or staff training, towards the two week withdraw notice or towards days previously missed.
If a child withdrawals from Valley Kids Learning Center, the Program Director must be notified in writing two weeks in advance. No tuition refund will be given, however, the deposit given at the time of registration will be applied to your child’s last two weeks of care at the center.
